About
I see the pathway to better health as a road best traveled with commitment, compassion, faith, and a bit of lightheartedness. There is no pressure to “fix” yourself.
I find great meaning in helping people get well. What I love most about Chinese medicine is its capacity for nuanced, individualized care that deciphers the origin of pathology and truly supports the body. There are many branches of Chinese medicine. I work with herbal medicine and nutrition, integrating knowledge of Chinese and Western herbs with significant training in Chinese medicine dietary therapy. My background in empirical psychological research also informs my clinical approach. While many wellness spaces draw on new age spirituality, my practice stays close to the classical foundations of Chinese medicine and natural law, without modern spiritual fusions or new age practices.Alongside my clinical work, I love to cook, sew clothes, listen to old gospel music, and travel. I occasionally moonlight as a jazz drummer. I enjoy rural life with my wonderful husband, Cameron, in the mysterious mountains of New Mexico.

Education & Training
I began my herbal studies in 2016 while working as a farmhand in Oregon, and I started to pursue clinical training in 2018 at the Indiana Herbal Center. In the years that followed, I narrowed my focus to Chinese herbal medicine and dietary therapy.I have taken courses and trainings in Chinese medicine with Dr. Jeffrey Yuen, Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, Andrew Sterman, Ann Cecil-Sterman, L.Ac., Dr. Evan Rabinowitz, Michael TIerra, O.M.D., and Thomas Avery Garran, Ph.D. I continue to study with many of these teachers, especially in regard to digestive health and women’s health.I studied Chinese herbs and learned to understand Western herbs through the framework of Chinese medicine as a student in the East West School of Herbology Professional Herbalist Program, a two-year clinical training program. I deepened my understanding of formulation through Dr. Heiner Fruehauf’s 14-month clinical training program, Classical Strategies for Effective Herbal Formulation. Before training in Chinese medicine, I worked as an academic scientist in empirical psychological research. I hold a B.S. in cognitive science and a B.A. in philosophy from Indiana University, where I worked on projects involving the role of the physical body in abstract reasoning and the math involved in traditionally feminine crafts. I spent a few years in industry research with education tech start-ups and as part of the Behavioral Economics Group at Disney Research & Imagineering. I started my Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Chicago, with a primary focus on emotional development and children’s experiences of awe, but I stepped away from the doctoral program after earning an M.A. in developmental psychology so that I could pursue training in clinical work.
